Vegetables Intervention Framework Review Workshop

What will we eat tomorrow?

Vegetables are among the most consumed food in Vietnam. And safe vegetable is also one of the two programme themes in Rikolto in Vietnam’s core work within 5 years’ time from 2017 to 2021 to promote Sustainable Inclusive Agriculture Value chains.

On Dec 19, 2018 we organized the Safe Vegetables Intervention Framework (IF) Review workshop with the participation of representatives from Vinh Phuc, Ha Nam, and Hanoi’s Department of Crop Production & Plant Protection, Department of Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Control and representatives from 8 farmers cooperatives within the 3 provinces. We had a successful review workshop in which everyone actively discussed necessary changes to the overall IF. The workshop also brought up the issues about gender inequality, plus lack of youth involvement in the chain. Together, representatives from each province come up with an action plan for 2019, focusing on the changes and suggestions they made to the Intervention Framework during the workshop. The workshop also had a sharing discussion from our finance team regarding how to plan for budgeting practically.

The Intervention Framework Review Workshop is a crucial step as part of our Planning, Learning, Action system, which takes place annually within our core programme to gather voices from our partners to better adapt to the current challenges so that all partners can move one step closer to the sustainable and inclusive vegetable value chains.
